In this ever-changing world where nothing is the same from one day to the next, never mind from one year to the next, modern medicine is a prime example of why you need to stay on top of how much things have changed, and the progress that is being made. What is incurable today, is treatable tomorrow, and what is a painful procedure now, is all the more bearable with every step of progress made.
It is not unimportant, then, that certain requirements be put in place for doctors, hospitals, nurses, manufacturers, and everyone else in between that one can think of when it comes to the medical field.
In particular, there are certain quality management systems and requirements put in place to ensure that organizations that sell medical devices, and services that are related, are fit to provide said devices and services, and are kept up to date. For the safety of the people who might use said devices, for the safety of the American public.
ISO 13485:2016 is the latest version of the quality management standards, and while there are currently 1.1 million certificates proving that facilities are up to this standard across 178 countries and economies, every single facility that achieved said ISO 9001 certification had to undergo two external, separate audits in order to prove that they successfully met the updated standards. Meaning there are just as many, if not more, that were unable to achieve this standard due to not passing the audits.
In order to help them meet the standard in the first place, many organizations seek out lead auditor training. There are numerous local ISO 9001 classes that people seek out in order to help them prepare to achieve their certification. And many that people seek out in order to stay on top of their certification training, lest they fall behind, and lose their standard and certification, therefore losing money and business.
Indeed, a total of 85% of those who are 9001 certified have reported an increased market share, improved company perception by the public, and an increased demand for their services and products. Meaning they have a lot to gain by simply meeting these improves standards.
In either case, you would suspect they would seek out some of the lead auditor training in the country, but, as happens with many other cases, most would prefer to seek their consults and training locally; the closer the better, in some cases. Lucky for them, many organizations seek to make themselves known as the place to receive lead auditor training, to seek out lead auditor courses, in the local area, in the country even, though whether they are right about being the best in the country is very much subjective.
Ultimately, where a company chooses to get their training done is a very important decision, though not one that is without options. For the health and safety of the general public, it is important to weigh the options carefully.
