Just like any other business, running a commercial cleaning service means learning what works and what doesn’t. There are plenty of ways to get your business to the top, but plenty more ways to run it into the ground. This video will explain some tips on how to run a commercial cleaning business and what to avoid.
One thing to do is select the sectors you’ll be operating in. You have professional offices, manufacturing warehouses, retail spaces, and more. Each location will have specialized equipment and organization that you will need to learn, so it’s helpful to narrow down your specialty.
The next thing you want to do is get involved in networking groups. It can be difficult finding clientele and employees, especially if you’re just starting out. Networking groups will give you the connections to grow your business and establish your name in the community.
Try to avoid doing retail cleaning, as the money in that market is not overly abundant. You may not be able to make a profit if you take on solely retail companies. If you do want to take on a retail company to service, make sure that you negotiate a good rate to ensure that you are being well compensated.
