6 Ways Daycare Could Benefit Your Child

Child daycare management

Having to put our kids in daycare is a hard decision. Mothers especially find it difficult to be away from their children for long periods of time and every day or a few days a week on a regular schedule can be hard on a parent. Thinking about those daycare payments on top of the stress of having to work can be a lot to manage. However, there are some reasons why child care could not only be helpful but be beneficial for your child and for yourself as well. Hopefully after reading this article you will see that the daycare payments you are making to ensure your child’s safety and child care management are worth your money.

  1. Emotional Stability
Although it may be very sad for you to leave your children, a study showed that when kids go to daycare, mothers are less depressed and less likely to have emotional problems. Kids benefit because it helps to ensure their own emotional stability when they can overcome separation anxiety and social withdrawal symptoms. After school programs and other child care centers can also have this same effect.

  2. Chance to Grow
While children definitely do much of their growing at home, daycare provides them with a unique opportunity to learn things in a different environment than they normally would. Being around other kids give them a chance to learn how to socialize and show appropriate affection. Day cares are also centered around stimulated the child’s brain and all times so he or she can learn as much as possible. Daycare payments are made taking into account the fact the children will be learning and growing within the program.
  3. Less Sickness
Children get ill, that’s just a fact of life. They catch colds and pass them on and it’s a vicious cycle. However, kids that are exposed to other children before the age of two and a half do get sick more but this made them get sick much less often later on. Dr. Starceski stated: “Kids will get sick, whether it’s when they are babies or when they start school, at some point, they’ll get all the colds.” As mothers and fathers, we hate for our children to get sick but we need to keep in mind that they are building an immune system that will help them later on in life to be able to function without succumbing to every bug that passes by.

  4. Bigger Brain Capacity
Studies have shown that children who went to daycare early are more intellectual than those who didn’t. This is mostly because of the opportunities daycare provides to play and socialize in a way that they wouldn’t be able to do at home. Having the opportunities that daycare provides can increase their brain capacity making starting school a much easier transition. Another reason it might be easier to start school from daycare is that the children are already immersed in an atmosphere that is like school and are taught that school is enjoyable and something to look forward to.

  5. Better Behaved
When children learn how to share and solve problems on their own it equates out in to general better behavior. If the program is a good one with trained teachers, they will teach the children how to use their words and voices to solve conflict and be a team player. Of course, these behaviors can be taught at home especially if the child has siblings but something about being with children that are not family helps them to sort out these feelings.

  6. Less Stress
Some research has shown that stay at home moms are more prone to sadness, anger and depression than moms who work. Children take on the emotions of their parents so when the parents are happy, the children will be happy. Having a break from our children helps us to miss them and vice versa making our time together much more enjoyable.

This is not to say that children of stay at moms will be any less developed than children who go to daycare. This article is simple to remind working moms who have daycare payments and separation anxiety that their children will benefit from being in daycare just as much as they would from being at home with you all day.
